    The Political Section is responsible for dealing with a wide range of security policy related issues, such as crisis-response operations, conflict prevention, fight against terrorism, arms control and disarmament, preventing proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, energy security, civil emergency planning and crisis management, as well as legal, scientific and economic aspects of security and information policy. The officials employed in the Political Section present Polish views, positions and policies in various civil and civil-military bodies subordinated to North Atlantic Council (NAC).

    At the same time, they are engaged in NATO's cooperation with partner nations within the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC), Partnership for Peace (PfP), NATO-Russia Council (NRC), NATO - Ukraine Commission (NUC), NATO - Georgia Commission (NGC), with countries participating in the Mediterranean Dialogue (MD) and Istanbul Co-operation Iniciative (ICI) as well as with the contact ones.

    The Section is engaged in organisation of visits from Poland to NATO Headquarters as well as those of NATO officials to Poland. It carries out information activities concerning Poland among national delegations at NATO, media representatives accredited to the organisation and guests visiting NATO Headquarters.
